By Invitation & Enquiry

The Art of the Table is intentionally small in scale, allowing each project to receive the time, thought and attention it deserves. There is no set formula. Each occasion, space and setting is different, and the approach is shaped accordingly.
If there is an occasion, space or idea you would like to explore, I would be very happy to hear from you.
Bespoke proposals are prepared following an initial conversation.

The art of a beautifully considered table

The Art of the Table is a private styling service for intimate weddings, private dinners, celebrations and special occasions, created for those who appreciate the quieter details of hosting.

My work is centred around the table, its setting, atmosphere and relationship to the occasion as a whole.
It is not event planning or coordination, but a more considered layer of styling and creative direction, brought in where the table and dining experience deserve particular attention.
I work selectively with private clients, boutique hotels and characterful spaces, where there is an appreciation for thoughtful design, gracious hosting and beautifully considered details.

More than table styling

The Art of the Table brings together three elements:

Design

An editorial approach to colour, proportion, texture and composition, creating tablescapes that feel intentional and naturally connected to their setting.

Etiquette

With a background in etiquette, I bring an understanding of both traditional table setting and modern hosting. The result is a table that is not only beautiful, but considered, practical and welcoming.

Experience

Every detail is considered from the guest’s perspective, how the table looks, how it functions and how it contributes to the atmosphere of the occasion.

I don’t just consider how a table should look. I consider how it should work and how it should feel.

A quiet layer of detail

The Art of the Table is intended to sit naturally alongside the people already bringing an occasion together.
My role may include creative direction, table scape design, styling guidance, sourcing recommendations and the final styling of the table itself.
The wider event remains in the hands of the client, venue and event team, allowing each person to focus on their own expertise while the table and dining experience receive their own considered attention.

For private spaces & boutique venues

There are occasions when a space itself becomes part of the story.
I am interested in working with a small number of boutique hotels, private houses and characterful venues where there is an opportunity to explore how a table, dinner or intimate gathering can express the personality of the setting.
This might be for a private celebration or special dining experience, or perhaps for a particular season, collection or experience that a venue wishes to bring to life.
There may also be occasions when a space calls for a little visual storytelling, an editorial or styled shoot created around a room, table, seasonal offering or new concept.
I enjoy creating imagery that captures the character of a place through its details: the way a table is laid, the atmosphere of a room, the feeling of an intimate dinner, or the small touches that make an experience memorable.
The intention is never to impose a look upon a space, but rather to reveal what is already there and allow its character to come through.

A considered collaboration

For venues, The Art of the Table can form part of a wider creative relationship.
Sometimes this may be as simple as creating a beautifully considered table for a particular shoot. At other times, it might be a seasonal story, the introduction of a new experience, a collection or menu, or imagery created to quietly showcase a property and the occasions it can offer.
I am equally interested in the quieter possibilities, discovering a room that has yet to be photographed in a particular way, exploring how a private dining experience might be presented, or creating a story around the details that make a venue distinctive.
For private clients, the service is tailored around the nature of the occasion, the setting and the way they wish their guests to experience it.
Each project is considered individually and approached with the same attention to detail.

Selected recommendations

As a wedding and event stylist, I regularly come across distinctive London venues and private spaces that I feel are particularly suited to my clients.
I am gradually building a small collection of recommended venues and, where there is a genuine fit, I am always happy to introduce these spaces to couples and private clients looking for somewhere with character.
The intention is not to create a directory, but to build a small network of places whose atmosphere, approach and individuality I genuinely admire.
